Creating a profile is free and you can also perform a limited number of actions. Profile pages contain plenty of details for increasing search potential (such as age, habits, children and habitation, earnings and more) plus a few opportunities to share information about yourself, your life and kids. Members can add up to 26 photos to their profile, as well as having their profile verified. This involves uploading an image of your ID so that the team can check your details are accurate, adding reassurance for some members who might be interested in you.

All members can perform a search, although advanced search options are limited to Gold members. This advanced search includes plenty of search options so you can really narrow in on someone who you’ll be likely to get on with. Gold members can also save their search options and find new members.

Whilst the majority of features are only available to Gold members, standard members are able to reply to messages and send winks. This means that you can still talk to someone but you cannot initiate conversations, which could put you at something of a disadvantage if you see someone you want to talk to.

Gold membership is very affordable and offers excellent value for money, particularly if you take advantage of the longer-term contracts. You can also earn free Gold membership by completing tasks such as uploading blog posts, providing feedback or inviting your friends to join the site. As well as sending and receiving private messages, you can chat to people using the forums and blogs, leaving comments if you wish. This is a great way to talk with people on even footing, based on common issues and ideas rather than simply a random search.

It’s the community features which set SingleParentMatch.com apart from many of its peers. It’s also very well designed and easy to use, allowing you to quickly access emails and messages, find friends and more. In addition, they offer useful dating and family life resources, including kids health tips, first date recommendations and advice on staying safe online.

Single Parent Match is missing a live chat feature, and you cannot engage through webcam chats either. This is disappointing because it is pretty much on the money in every other regard. Adding these features would allow members to communicate in a way which they prefer. A free iPhone app is now available, allowing you to never miss a message when you’re out of the house. 

It’s good to see that you can control your security settings on this site. You can choose who can or cannot see particular photos, as well as who can contact you. Blacklisting members is simple, and easily reversed if you feel like it. You can also add people to your “favorites” if you wish to find them easily in the future. 

Keeping track of your activities is also really easy on this site. The “My Lists” section of your account allows you to find out who has viewed your profile, connect with people who are interested in you, find out who has winked at you, check which members have emailed you, see who has requested your photos, discover who has been answering your online questions and more. This really puts you in control of who you connect with and whether or not you talk to them again in the future.
