I am writing this review in the hope that it will help someone who is considering using this site. First off, the site is pretty much useless unless you have a subscription. When you do subscribe, you sign up to an auto-renewal. It's important that you understand that this means without warning, when your subscription runs out the same subscription will be renewed and the money debited from your credit/debit card or PayPal account. If you do not want this, you can only phone Global Personals. THERE IS CURRENTLY NO ONLINE CANCELLATION FUNCTIONALITY. This means you have to call them during office hours. I waited fifteen minutes to speak to an operator. When I asked to cancel my subscription, I was told that they had done it and that also they were giving me two free weeks of subscription. The agent confirmed to me twice that the auto-renewal was cancelled. I never got any written email confirmation but trusted the agent's word.
Lo and behold, at the end my my subscription my PayPal account was debited with another £80 for 6 months subscription. I was livid and immediately filed a dispute with PayPal, stating that I had called and so on and that the money should never have been taken. PayPal uphelp my dispute and within two days I had the money back. One assumption for such a quick refund is that PayPal may have had similar claims against Global Personals before. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. If you subscribe, ensure that you are prepared to call and cancel the auto-renewal and ensure that they send you written confirmation and that you keep the email.
Other than that, the site is OK. Not much traffic and new users, however I had three dates from there and one of them resulted in a very good friend.
Also, there seems to be no option to actually delete your profile. I have simply stopped using the site. I wouldn't recommend this site to anyone. If you want a nice payed site, then use a site where you can cancel the auto-renewal online and always ensure you get written confirmation. ALWAYS READ THE SITES TERMS AND CONDITIONS BEFORE PAYING ANY MONEY.
In summary, I would not recommend Mums Date Dads to a friend.
