Mums Date Dads is an easy-use, fun website helping to connect single parents. It aims to provide the necessary tools to put you in touch, allowing parents to talk about their lives and the sorts of people they’d like to meet. A detailed search feature allows you to narrow down your hunt and locate your ideal partner. Sites have been established for the UK, Ireland and Australia.
There are a few fun and informative tools to take advantage of on MumsDateDads. The first is the “Encounters” page. This is a game in which you are shown a member’s photo. If you like the look of them, you press “yes”, if you’re unsure you press “maybe” and if not, you press “no.” This information is then compared with other people’s answers. If someone you like also hit “yes” when they saw your photo, it puts you in touch with each other. This is a non-intrusive way of getting people to talk to each other, without the pressure of possible rejection.
Members can also write diary entries, allowing them to talk about their lives and what they’re looking for. This offers a good opportunity to attract attention from other members, based on your life and their opinion of you, rather than just a set of photos.
Profiles include photographs, and you can also upload a video introduction. This is a nice way to greet your visitors and adding your voice can be an attention-grabber. Whilst we like the use of the webcam for this feature, we do wish that MumsDateDads.com would also allow you to chat to members using a webcam, particularly given their higher prices.
Price is something we must consider here, because this site is pretty expensive compared with some of its competitors. In fact, this site is pretty much identical to a few other sites (Net Mums Dating, Dating After Kids and Single with Kids Dating, for example), with the exact same features, layout and profile building. The only major difference here seems to be that Mums Date Dads charges you more than the a couple of those other websites! Why? We’re not sure. Our results didn’t seem to offer up any more results, it’s no easier to use and provides the same support. Its price hike is therefore something of a mystery.
If you like the look and feel of Mums Date Dads, we recommend trying out the two very similar sites we mentioned, before you decide which one is best. Prices vary between them, and membership might also vary, so performing a search on all three sites to see if there’s a member you like, might be worth doing early on.
