Although the site does have a number of good features in place, we were a little let down by the amount of advertising on the site and the site’s overall appearance. That said, the whole site is offered to all customers free of charge, meaning customers can always combine membership with this site with another, larger, subscription site in order to have the greatest chance of being successful in finding ‘the one’.
Members can join Single Parent Socialise in just a few moments, being able to create a profile and begin searching through the member profiles on the site almost immediately. Profiles can contain as many photos and as much information as a user wishes to share with the community and can be customised, to a certain extent, to show off a user's personality. Members can use either an advanced search or quick search function to find the perfect match on the site and then use a number of communicative tools to get in touch and forge a relationship. While users can make use of an instant messaging function, send emails directly through the site to other users or send a quick ‘hi’ to them know that they are interested in what they see, none of these features are particularly high quality and we did encounter problems whilst using them on occasion.
Although Single Parent Socialise offers customers a number of good features, the site is let down in a number of ways. Firstly, the layout of the site isn’t particularly conducive to easy navigation, with the homepage being confusing, especially for users who aren’t used to online dating. The site also uses a great deal of advertising from third party sites (likely a reason why the site is able to offer users its services free of charge) and doesn’t appear to be particularly popular, especially when compared to other sites we have reviewed. Although, because Single Parent Socialise is free, users can take advantage of the service on offer without having to sign up to a lengthy or expensive subscription, we would definitely recommend combining membership of this site with that of another site in order to be successful in their dating journey!
